Man drowns in Ganga, second incident in one week

The victim’s body was fished out after four hours of toil, said police.Gunnaur circle officer Gamleshwar Biltoriya also reached the spot and supervised the rescue operation.Sugharpal is survived by his wife.It was the second incident of drowning in a week. While all of them were standing in the water, Sugharpal accidently slipped into the river.Seeing Sugharpal swept away by the water cureent, his friends raised an alarm, and soon divers jumped into the river, but they couldn’t save him. Bareilly: A 25-year-old man drowned in the Ganga while taking a dip at Rajghat in Babrala village under Gunnaur police station in Sambhal district on Sunday.Police said a resident of Kubari Bhud under Dhanari police station, Sugharpal arrived Rajghat along with his four friends to take a dip in the river. On October 9, Delhi-based Vishan Kumar also slipped into the river while taking a dip at the same spot and drowned.According to locals, 12 people have been drowned into the river over past couple of months due to negligence of local administration.
