Bareilly: Police have registered a case against two unidentified persons for allegedly making derogatory remarks against a minority community on social media.Sources said that the case was filed based on a complaint lodged by Nadeem Qureshi, a social worker.Kotwali station house officer Geetesh Kapil said, “Based on a complaint, we have registered a case against two unidentified persons under section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings) of IPC and relevant sections of Information Technology Act. We have started an inquiry in the case and are trying to ascertain whether the social media accounts used were fake.”Talking to TOI, Qureshi said, “My friend Afroz alerted me about the derogatory post on social media on Monday night. It was shared by two friends on his Facebook timeline. However, he does not know how these people were added to his friend list. Hence, we lodged a police complaint in the matter.”
