Illegal firearms factory busted in Sambhal, three held

Bareilly: Sambhal police on Sunday busted an illegal firearms factory in Harfari village under Dhanari police station area and arrested three persons with more than 25 weapons.Superintendent of police Yamuna Prasad said, “Acting on a tip-off, we tracked mobile numbers of the accused for two days. For a country-made pistol they would charge Rs 3,000, Rs 10,000 for a single-barrel gun, Rs 12,000 for a rifle and Rs 15,000 for a revolver. Besides, they also found semi-finished weapons and equipment used for making firearms. The accused, Suresh and Bhoop Singh of Sambhal and Ramphal from Amroha districts, were manufacturing firearms at Suresh’s residence.”SP said, “Accused confessed that they used to sell weapons for Rs 3,000 to Rs 15,000.
