Bareilly: On Tuesday night, seven dacoits barged into the house of an embroidery trader Chaman in Bamiyana village under Bhamora police station and allegedly gunned him down when he resisted. The miscreants also injured his brother Naseemuddin while thrashing him badly. On hearing screams, family members and neighbours woke up and caught two accused while their five accomplices managed to flee the scene.According to the police, the miscreants entered in the house from first floor. The reached there climbing on an electricity pole erected adjacent to the house.“It was around 1am on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday when they barged into the house. As soon as they entered, Chaman woke up and protested. Over an altercation, one of the dacoits shot at him from a close range and he collapsed in a pool of blood. On hearing gunshots, Chaman’s brother and other family members woke up. They also manhandled Naseemuddin and fled away,” circle officer Akash Agrhari said.Chaman’s family said dacoits decamped with Rs 10 lakh cash and jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh.On getting information, SSP Muniraj G, SP (rural) Satish Kumar, SP (crime) RK Bhartiya and CO Agrahari reached the spot with police force.The SSP said, “The nabbed accused are identified as Achchhan and Nawed of Badaun district. We have lodged an FIR under sections 395 (dacoity), 396 (dacoity with murder), 397 (dacoity, with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) of IPC. We are conducting raids to nab the absconding accused.”
