BAREILLY: A 32-year-old man was booked for allegedly raping a 24-year-old woman on the pretext of marrying her. Police said the woman left her husband due to marital discord.Quila station house officer (SHO) Dharmendra Kumar said, “The woman who got married in 2014, left her husband in 2016 due to marital discord. On December 2017, she entered into a relationship with Shiv Kumar Pal , whom she knew before her marriage. Pal promised the woman that he would marry her and raped her repeatedly. He also asked her to sleep with his friends and tried to force her into sex trade.”“On her complaint on Wednesday, an FIR was registered against the accused under sections 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 376 (rape) of IPC. We are conducting raids to nab the accused. Meanwhile, we sent the woman to the district hospital for medical examination. After receiving her report, we will take appropriate action,” SHO said.
