Shahjahanpur: In a shocking incident, a woman’s body was found near Dhakerwa village on Shahjahanpur-Farukkhabad state highway. The body was first spotted by few students who were on their way to school on Friday morning.The locals informed the police about the body. The woman is told to be 25-30 year old. The condition of the dead body suggests that she was beaten and later strangulated with an iron wire. Marks of car tyres were found near the body, which makes the police believe that the woman was killed elsewhere and her body was dumped in a car on the highway. The body has sent for autopsy.Police shared the details about the dead body with the police stations in neighboring districts like Pilibhit, Lakhimpur, Sitapur, Hardoi and Farukkhabad. On Friday evening, they received a call from Leharpur police station of Sitapur that the body resembles to a missing woman.Additional Superintendent of Police (city) Dinesh Tripathi told TOI, "We have got a lead in this case that this woman was possibly missing from Sitapur district a day ago. The family members would be arriving in Shahjahanpur anytime in the night. Once the body is identified and the autopsy report comes, we can start further investigation."
