Schools will lose recognition for not conducting classes: Dy CM Sharma

Bareilly: UP deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma on Sunday said the government would derecognise all those schools which did not conduct classes.“Schools which are not conducting classes have not been made examination centres for the upcoming UP board exams. Besides, students were informed a year ago that their final exams would be conducted in February so that they could prepare accordingly. We want copies to be evaluated timely and the results to be out on time.”The UP board exams are beginning from February 7.“To ensure quality education to children, 205 new inter-colleges have been opened in a year.

Bareilly: UP deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma on Sunday said the government would derecognise all those schools which did not conduct classes.“Schools which are not conducting classes have not been made examination centres for the upcoming UP board exams. I have directed officials to provide a list of those schools so that we can cancel their recognition,” said Sharma, who was in Badaun to attend a private event.“The number of students appearing in the board exams has decreased from 67.22 lakh last year to nearly 52 lakh this time. The examination centres are being selected by using software. We have given priority to government schools while selecting examination centres. Each exam room will have two CCTV cameras. Besides, students were informed a year ago that their final exams would be conducted in February so that they could prepare accordingly. If students are taught properly, there will be no cheating,” said Sharma.Talking to reporters after a meeting with officials, Sharma said it would be for the first time when the exams of the UP board, the biggest education board in the world, would be conducted in just 16 days. “Earlier, the examinations used to be conducted in a span of two-and-a-half months, but now the intermediate and high school exams would be completed in 15 and 16 days, respectively. We want copies to be evaluated timely and the results to be out on time.”The UP board exams are beginning from February 7.“To ensure quality education to children, 205 new inter-colleges have been opened in a year. We have published advertisements for the appointment of teachers on vacant posts,” said deputy CM.“We have introduced NCERT books at the secondary-level. Even we have ensured that the new academic session starts from April rather than July,” he added.
