As the fire spread, the children sleeping inside the net suffered burn injuries.The mother called neighbours for help and the children— Gagan (2) and Simran (4)— were admitted to the district hospital.“The kids had received 90% to 100 % burn injuries and died during the course of treatment. We have sent the bodies for postmortem, and an FIR will be registered after we receive a complaint from the family,” SHO, Sampoornanagar, Adarsh Kumar Singh told TOI.Later, BJP MLA Romi Sahni met the aggrieved family and provided them an immediate relief of Rs 20,000 from his funds. He said that he would ensure more compensation from the electric department, at the earliest.“The family is poor and everything in the room was gutted. They didn’t even have money to cremate the bodies, so I provided them Rs 20,000.
