Bareilly: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 20-year-old Anand Pal on Thursday afternoon. The girl alleged that Pal dragged her to a sugarcane field when she was on her way to the field where her parents were working.The victim narrated the ordeals to her father, following which he lodged an FIR on Friday morning. Police said that an FIR has been lodged under section 376 (punishment for rape) of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and they sent the victim to district hospital for medical examination. The accused is on the run.The village comes under the jurisdiction of Meerganj police station. Station house officer Amar Singh told TOI, “The incident took place on Thursday but the victim’s father approached us on Friday. An FIR has been registered and the report of the victim’s medical examination is awaited. We are conducting raids to nab the accused and were informed that Pal tied knots four months ago.”
