Security beefed up in Kheri for Union home minister Rajnath Singh’s visit today

SHAHJAHANPUR: Security has been strengthened on Indo-Nepal border and areas around the SSB headquarters in Lakhimpur Kheri city ahead of Union home minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to the area on Monday to participate in an Army event. Singh will also inaugurate a residential complex recently prepared for the officials of SSB deployed in the district.The Union home minister is scheduled to arrive in Lakhimpur Kheri at 11.20 am. All our officials are on their toes and we have left no possibility of any security lapse.” After this, the minister will attend a feast with Army jawans and address media persons. He will stay here for around 2.5 hours before leaving for another event in the neighbouring Bahraich district.During his brief stay in Kheri, Singh will inaugurate the administrative and residential complex especially prepared for the family of jawans.

He would also distribute articles worth Rs 4 lakh to the residents of the villages situated on the Indo-Nepal borders in the district.Additional superintendent of police Ghanshyam Chaurasiya said, “The doors of the SSB campus will remain closed on Monday and will only open for selected guests. All the hotels, restaurants and other public places were checked for suspects. All our officials are on their toes and we have left no possibility of any security lapse.”
