Army jawan found hanging from tree

Bareilly: A jawan of 195 Medium Regiment of the Indian Army was found hanging from a tree near butchery at the cantonment on Sunday morning.Administrative commandant, Uttar Bharat area, Colonel Priyadarshi Amit said Lance Naik Shinu Joseph, a resident of Pandallur village in Kerala’s Malappuram district, had gone missing from the lines on Saturday evening, following which we started searching for him and found him hanging from a tree on Sunday morning.“Lance Naik Joseph had joined the Army in 2010. We have informed his family about the incident,” said commandant.Cantonment SHO Devendra Singh told TOI, “The jawan was missing during the attendance roll call, which is conducted at 7pm every day. Besides, no issue related to seeking leave from seniors came to fore during investigation. He is survived by his parents and two brothers. The body was sent for postmortem.”
