Six open fire at notorious criminal in Bareilly, cops suspect enmity

Bareilly: Six men opened fire at 30-year-old noted criminal , Pataram Kashyap, at Sadbhavna Colony near Lal Phatak in Kandharpur. The cops suspect that the killing was a result of an old enmity between them.“The deceased was history-sheeter and had 36 cases like loot, dacoity, murder, attempt to murder, mining mafia etc. On Saturday, two persons were detained and FIR was lodged in the case.The incident took place on Friday. We are conducting the raids to nab the accused, who they are still at large,” Kumar said. Kashyap is a history sheeter who has 36 cases of loot and murder registered against him.Police said the six men who killed Kashyap have been identified after Kashyap’s elder brother Lala Ram filed a complaint against them.

The cops suspect that the killing was a result of an old enmity between them.“The deceased was history-sheeter and had 36 cases like loot, dacoity, murder, attempt to murder, mining mafia etc. lodged against him. He lived in Babhiya village with parents, elder brother Lala Ram, 50, wife, three daughters and one son,” Cantonment station house officer (SHO), Devendra Kumar, told TOI.“Lala Ram has named Bunty, Chantu Yadav, Jatta, Himmat Singh, Nawal Singh and Rakshpal, all native of neighbour village in the murder of his brother,” Kumar added.The officer said that the body has been sent for post mortem examination.A complaint was filed by deceased’s elder brother against the six accused in the murder case, and an FIR has been lodged under the sections 302 (murder) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC.“We detained two persons and we are investigating the case. We are conducting the raids to nab the accused, who they are still at large,” Kumar said.
