Stray bull attacks continue as 65-year woman dies in Badaun

In yet another incident, a stray bull killed a 65-year-old woman in Deherpur village under Dataganj police station in Badaun on Thursday. A 30-year-old farmer was killed by a stray bull in the district’s Mugara Jarasi village on January 26. She succumbed to her injuries before her family could take her to a hospital.Kunwar Bahadur Singh, sub-divisional magistrate, Dataganj, said, “Shanti Devi died after she was attacked by a stray bull. It seems that the bull came from another village.”Stray cattle menace has claimed three lives in Badaun in the last three months. BAREILLY: Stray bulls continue to wreak havoc in Badaun.

BAREILLY: Stray bulls continue to wreak havoc in Badaun. In yet another incident, a stray bull killed a 65-year-old woman in Deherpur village under Dataganj police station in Badaun on Thursday. This is the third such incident since January.The woman - identified as Shanti Devi, wife of Dori Lal - was on her way to a field near Myau Road when the stray bull suddenly charged, lifted and threw her on the ground. She succumbed to her injuries before her family could take her to a hospital.Kunwar Bahadur Singh, sub-divisional magistrate, Dataganj, said, “Shanti Devi died after she was attacked by a stray bull. According to provision, we can provide compensation in such a case if the deceased is below 60 years of age.”Singh added, “Following the directives of state government, we have set up shelter homes for stray cattle in the district. Even a shelter home for cows with a capacity of 150 is functional at Deherpur village. It seems that the bull came from another village.”Stray cattle menace has claimed three lives in Badaun in the last three months. Here too, the victim, Ram Lareta, was working in his farm when he was suddenly attacked by the bull. Other farmers then took him to a district hospital where he was declared as brought dead.In another attack, a bull killed a 13-year-old boy after escaping from a temporary shelter home in Badaun’s Bilsi town on January 10. The young boy was identified as Dharamveer, a class V student and a resident of ward number 3 in Bilsi.
