A woman was killed by her in laws while she was eight months pregnant for dowry. The in laws and husband allegedly beat her to death even after knowing about pregnancy.
The deceased identified as Neha Rani of Tana Rampur was allegedly beaten to death by her husband and in-laws for dowry in Sarkhara Khas village in Moradabad on the night of Wednesday.
Neha Rani the deceased was married to Pramod Kumar of Sarkhara Khas two years ago. Her family has alleged that from the very beginning of the marriage Pramod (husband) and his family abused and assaulted her for more dowries.
However on the night of Wednesday they allegedly beat her up despite her pregnancy after seeing her condition deteriorating the family admitted her to a private hospital and fled. She succumbed to injuries during the treatment. Police is yet to register an FIR and are waiting for the autopsy.
Crime inspector, SV Singh of Mundha Pandey police station stated ‘’a formal case will be registered once the post-mortem report arrives. Action will be taken accordingly and if the in-laws are found guilty they will be booked’’.
