Carts on Quila-Kutubkhana stretch banned

Bareilly: In an attempt to provide relief from the ongoing traffic congestion on Quila-Kutubkhana stretch that witnesses traffic snarls on a daily basis, the city traffic department has permanently restricted the plying of loaded carts in the area.Officials informed that the carts that are used for transporting the goods to the shopkeepers in the area have been banned to ply from 10 am to 8pm.Speaking with TOI, superintendent of police (traffic), Kamlesh Bahadur said, “The decision to ban the entry of the carts in the area has been taken following the numerous cases of traffic jams being reported along the stretch, especially during peak hours.”Policemen have put up barricades restricting entry of Bara Bazaar bound carts, to ease vehicular flow.SP said, “For the compliance of the rule, traffic personnel have been deployed at Quila trisection and Kutubkhana crossing to ensure that no carts enter towards Bara Bazaar area during the restricted hours.”Moreover, the Bareilly Municipal Corporation along with traffic police is planning to make a few stretches one-way in the city.
