HC notice to State on doctor’s petition alleging harassment

The medical superintendent allegedly ‘uses filthy abusive words against her in front of her colleagues... and has deliberately isolated her from other colleagues by threatening them’. She is allegedly being ‘harassed, bullied and discriminated against’ as she is a lady doctor by a senior colleague and the medical superintendent. Justice A.S. Bopanna passed the order on a petition filed by Dr. Alkarani T. Patil, an Associate Professor at IGICH, Bengaluru. The petitioner has also alleged that the IGICH has been violating norms of the Medical Council of India (MCI). The court also ordered issue of notices to the IGICH, the MCI and the commission.
