Man accuses SP of having affair with wife, releases video

BENGALURU: Videos of an IPS officer allegedly getting intimate with a married woman have kicked up a controversy. "I had set up a photography studio for my wife in Davanagere. Guled was our first customer as he approached my wife to shoot his twin daughters' birthday. The woman's husband accused the officer, Bengaluru Rural SP Bheemashankar S Guled, of forcing his wife to have an affair with him and released the videos as proof.The 40-year-old man, a resident of Davanagere, said he and his wife, who is now missing, faced death threats from Guled. His complaint, lodged with the Koramangala police on July 5, has been taken up as a non-cognizable offence.

Police said they have sought legal opinion to register an FIR In the complaint, the man alleged that Guled was SP of Davanagere district between 2016 and 2018 and came in contact with his wife in October 2016. "I had set up a photography studio for my wife in Davanagere. Guled was our first customer as he approached my wife to shoot his twin daughters' birthday. Later, he began forcing her, seeking sexual favours. She obliged out of fear and he took advantage of her several times in Davanagere, Belagavi (when he was deployed for bandobast for assembly session), a resort near Bengaluru and his residence in Koramangala against her wishes," he alleged.Though he claimed his wife was missing, she told a news channel that she had had a dispute with her husband and that he had created fake videos of her and Guled to bring a bad name to them.Guled told TOI that the allegations were false. "I have done nothing and I deny the allegation," he said.Asked if action would be taken, deputy chief minister and home minister G Parameshwara said officials would take "appropriate measures" if there was any truth in the allegations.
