SWR: Trains to Kerala running slower than normal

The train operated to Mangaluru has been diverted and is being operated via Shoranur-Tirupattur-Palakkad due to land slides in several locations in the Sakleshpur stretch. The release states that all the train services to Kerala have resumed. The train originating from Bengaluru to destinations in Kerala are running at restricted speed. “Due to line congestion in Kerala, the speed of trains is affected further. But considering the importance of the need for transport, more so at this hour, extra efforts are being put in to run train services .

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the South Western Railway (SWR) said that the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure. “Due to line congestion in Kerala, the speed of trains is affected further. But considering the importance of the need for transport, more so at this hour, extra efforts are being put in to run train services . Realizing the need of connectivity to places devastated by floods, to help people reach their families, Railways is working hard to maintain all the train services,” states the release. The release states that all the train services to Kerala have resumed.
