BENGALURU: The BBMP has informed the Karnataka high court that of 3,071 potholes identified in the city’s eight zones, 899 have been filled up till 6am Thursday.In an affidavit filed before the high court, BBMP engineer-in-chief (in-charge) MR Venkatesh sought three more days to fill the remaining potholes.A division bench headed by Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari allowed the request and adjourned the hearing to September 24.“By Monday, it has to be zero. Anything above is not acceptable. We hope you’ll able to complete the job,” the bench observed. The affidavit was filed after the Chief Justice’s observation on Wednesday that the court expected the civic body to ensure the city was free from potholes by Thursday.When the court started proceedings in the morning, the Chief Justice told the BBMP advocate to state the position on potholes by 1.15pm. The court took up the matter before lunch and asked about the progress.
