Bangladeshi man with Indian passport caught at KIA

Hussen told the officials that he crossed the border with his mother and sister when he was 12. In January this year, Hussen managed to get an Aadhaar card after which he applied for a passport. He was travelling to the UAE to search for a job, and had a tourist visa, according to the police.

more-in A 26-year-old man from Bangladesh, who allegedly crossed the border 14 years ago and has been working as a security guard in Bengaluru for the last seven years, was caught by immigration officials at Kempegowda International Airport while he was trying to fly out of the country to Sharjah on an Indian passport. The incident took place on Wednesday. According to the police, the accused, Abdul Hussen, hails from Sylhet district of Bangladesh. While checking his travel documents, immigration officials started questioning Hussen. However, they realised from his answers that something was amiss. Hussen told the officials that he crossed the border with his mother and sister when he was 12. He moved to Bengaluru seven years ago, and lived in a rented house at Kalasipalya. In January this year, Hussen managed to get an Aadhaar card after which he applied for a passport. He was travelling to the UAE to search for a job, and had a tourist visa, according to the police. Hussen has been booked under various sections of the Passports Act. He has been remanded in judicial custody.
