B'luru: Fake marks cards used to exit country

BENGALURU: In a fresh revelation, Bangalore University (BU) fake marks cards, which were allegedly used by job aspirants in India, are now being used by overstaying foreign nationals to get exit permits. Afraid of getting arrested, these people are producing fake marks cards before FRRO to get exit permit to leave India, said police sources. Police sources said fake BU marks cards are increasingly being produced by overstaying foreign students seeking exit permits.Police recently carried out extensive raids to identify overstaying foreign nationals with support from FRRO officials. On suspicion, FRRO officials checked with the varsity and found Alex’s marks card was forged.Assistant director at FRRO Sudeep Kumar KP lodged a complaint with police.

BENGALURU: In a fresh revelation, Bangalore University (BU) fake marks cards, which were allegedly used by job aspirants in India, are now being used by overstaying foreign nationals to get exit permits. In one such case, city police have arrested a Congolese national , Nayim Said Alex, a resident of Hennur Main Road in Kothanur.Alex approached the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) online seeking an exit permit and produced a III-year BSc BU marks card. On suspicion, FRRO officials checked with the varsity and found Alex’s marks card was forged.Assistant director at FRRO Sudeep Kumar KP lodged a complaint with police. According to police sources, Alex’s visa was valid between August 2016 and August 2017, but he overstayed and created the fake marks card to create an alibi and obtain an exit permit.Hoping to get the permit, Alex went to the FRRO office on October 5 only to be picked up by police officers waiting for him. Police sources said fake BU marks cards are increasingly being produced by overstaying foreign students seeking exit permits.Police recently carried out extensive raids to identify overstaying foreign nationals with support from FRRO officials.
