Founder of edu trust hacked to death over land row

BENGALURU: A 63-year-old founder and chairman of an education trust was stabbed to death inside a school on Sunday over a property dispute KR Ranganath had called the owners of an adjacent property for a meeting and the issue seemed to have been settled. But two of them returned moments later to murder him. One accused was shot at by police and arrested; the other is on the run.Police sources said there was pandemonium on the school campus as scores of children attending special classes during the holiday were witness to the murder and ran helter-skelter.Deputy commissioner of police (in charge for west division) Chethan Singh Rathor said the victim, a resident of Basaveshwaranagar , had called the meeting at Havanur Public School and PU College in Papaiah Garden at 10.30am.In 1986, Ranganath alias Ranganath Nayak started Sri Maruthi Vidya Samsthe which runs the institution.
