Metro passenger attempts suicide, services hit

BENGALURU: A Metro passenger allegedly tried to commit suicide at the National College Metro Station on Friday.An unidentified passenger attempted suicide by jumping on the metro rail track at the station at about 11:30am.National College Metro Station on the Yelachenahalli – Nagasandra line has been closed following the incident.BMRCL officials said they have suspended the metro rail services immediately after the incident. Every day, an average of 4 lakh people travel by Namma Metro. Several passengers have been stranded at various Metro stations on both Purple and Green Lines.This is the second such incident ever since the Namma Metro commenced operations in 2011. In 2012, a 16-year-old boy threw himself under a train at the M G Road station.
