Suicide bid: Youth left home after tiff with mum

BENGALURU: Metro services between Nagasandra and Yelachenahalli were disrupted after Venugopal , 18, jumped in front of an approaching train at National College Station in Basavanagudi on Friday.“Immediately, the train was stopped with emergency brakes. Action was taken to rescue the passenger and rush him to hospital,” said BLY Chavan, chief public relations officer, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL). “Though we had asked him to assist us in tailoring work, he had little interest and was always busy on the phone. It had a cascading effect on operations on the Green Line as all trains were halted. The situation was chaotic at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station at Majestic since passengers arriving on the Purple Line (between Mysuru Road and Byappanahalli) could not switch to the Green Line.
