BENGALURU: Congress MLA from Kampli JN Ganesh , who was arrested on Wednesday from a hotel in Somnath in Gujarat, was produced before the chief judicial magistrate's court in Ramanagara in Karnataka and remanded in judicial custody till March 6.Ganesh had gone missing after attacking his colleague Hospet MLA Anand Singh at a resort on late January 20 night. Ganesh was booked for attempt to murder after Anand Singh gave a statement to police that his colleague attempted to kill him.According to sources, Ramanagara district police did not seek police custody for Ganesh as they had already completed spot mahajar and recorded Ganesh's statement.Ganesh's counsel requested the court that Ganesh be lodged in Central Prison, Parappana Agrahara rather than being incarcerated in the Ramanagara district jail. The court acceded for his request and sent Ganesh to Parappana Agrahara prison.The Kampli MLA was arrested on Wednesday afternoon when he was on his way to have lunch at a hotel near Somnath Temple, Ramanagara district, superintendent of police Ramesh Bhanot said.Police brought Ganesh to the city on Thursday morning and later took him to Bidadi police station, where the attempt to murder case was registered against him.
