Covid: Karnataka records its biggest single day high; Bengaluru daily cases crosses Chennai, Mumbai

Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar conceded that there were lapses on part of the government in terms of tracing and tracking.

After attracting much praise from all over the world over its handling and management of Covid-19 crisis, Karnataka and Bengaluru both recorded its biggest single-day Covid positive cases on Thursday.

Bengaluru reported 1,373 positive cases on Thursday surpassing worst affected cities like Mumbai and Chennai which reported 1,268 and 1,216 positive cases respectively. Capital City`s overall tally reached 13,882 with 10,870 active cases.

Karnataka too saw its biggest daily high in new corona virus cases with 2,228 new cases getting detected on Thursday taking its total number of infected to 31,105. Also for the first time, the state conducted more than 20,000 tests in a day. Karnataka’s total virus related death toll is 486.
