Karnataka CM congratulates President-elect Kovind

Bengaluru Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday congratulated Ram Nath Kovind on his election to the office of the President. The ruling Congress lawmakers of the southern state, however, voted for the opposition candidate Meira Kumar in the presidential election on July 17, while legislators of the opposition BJP voted for Kovind as the NDA nominee. “Under your stewardship, let there be a bright future for India, with equal opportunities to all the people across the country,” said Siddaramaiah in a congratulatory message to the President-elect Kovind, said a statement from the chief ministera’s office here.
