Kidnap bid: Yeddyurappa summoned for questioning

Badiger, who is the investigating officer, served notice at the house of Mr. Yeddyurappa at Dollars Colony, asking him to appear before the police for questioning. The police have so far arrested over eight persons in this connection with the case and had even summoned Mr. Yeddyurappa's PA Santosh for questioning. The city police on Friday issued summons to State Bharatiya Janata Party president B.S. The summons was issued in connection with the case of attempt to kidnap and assault Vinay, personal assistant of K.S. There are some questioned which needs to be clarified and hence he has been summoned, a senior police officer said.

The summons was issued in connection with the case of attempt to kidnap and assault Vinay, personal assistant of K.S. Eshwarappa, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, on May 11 this year. Assistant Commissioner of Police A.R. Badiger, who is the investigating officer, served notice at the house of Mr. Yeddyurappa at Dollars Colony, asking him to appear before the police for questioning. There are some questioned which needs to be clarified and hence he has been summoned, a senior police officer said. The police have so far arrested over eight persons in this connection with the case and had even summoned Mr. Yeddyurappa's PA Santosh for questioning. After evading police for sometime, Santosh obtained anticipatory bail and appeared before the police, but he reportedly did not cooperated with the investigations. The police approached the court seeking necessary directions and cancellation of his bail arguing that he did not adhere to the conditions of the bail. The matter is pending before the court.
