more-in The body of a 27-year-old software engineer was found at Cessna Business Park in Kadubeesanahalli on Wednesday. The police suspect that she jumped from the terrace of her 10-storey office building, but have little evidence to corroborate this hypothesis. “We have not ruled out the possibility of foul play and are investigating all angles,” said a police officer. The deceased, Geetanjali, was a senior engineer in a private firm, which had its office on the fourth floor of the building. She had applied for leave for two days, including Wednesday. However, she arrived at the tech park around noon. Twenty minutes later, a few people heard a loud sound and rushed to the spot to find Geetanjali’s body, said the police. Investigators are trying to piece together the chain of events from the time she entered the building till her death. According to the police, it was Geetanjali’s birthday on Tuesday, and she had taken leave to go to Goa as her parents were based there. She left the city on Monday night with her aunt who lives in Bannerghatta Park and her younger brother who resides with her in HSR Layout. They returned to Bengaluru on Wednesday at 8.30 a.m, but instead of going to her house, she boarded a bus straight to the office. “At 12.05 p.m., she called up her aunt to inform her that she had reached her workplace. We asked her colleagues, who said Geetanjali had not come to the office,” the police officer said. “We have questioned her aunt and brother who said there was nothing that could prompt her to kill herself.” The officer added that the family told them: “We were all happy yesterday celebrating her birthday. We don’t understand what happened.” They suspect that she may have been pushed off the terrace. Umesh Das a security supervisor at the building said Geetanjali took the emergency exit to reach the terrace. “When I saw her body on the ground, I immediately informed the facility manager of the building and he alerted the police,” said Das, adding that no ambulance was available. “We carried her to Flipkart office nearby and used their ambulance to get to Sakra Hospital in Bellandur.” The police have little to go by as no cameras had been installed inside the building. “Unfortunately, there is no CCTV footage that could have helped us find out what happened on the terrace,” said the police.
