A day after her birthday, Geetanjali’s body was found at Cessna Business Park in Kadubeesanahalli. The police now suspect that she may have jumped from the terrace of the 10-storey building in which her office is located. However, the case remains registered as a suspicious death and not suicide. From her mobile phone, which was sent to the Forensic Science Lab, the police have learned that Geetanjali had got engaged on her birthday, November 21. “It was an arranged union. We recovered chat messages where her friends have congratulated her on her engagement,” said a police officer. Geetanjali, along with her aunt and son, had gone to Goa to celebrate her birthday with her parents who are based there. After returning to Bengaluru on Wednesday, she left for her office directly from the airport even though she had taken leave from work and was not expected in office. According to witnesses, she went straight to the terrace. “We know that she spoke to her mother and aunt over the mobile phone. We are waiting for the last rites to be performed before talking to her family,” said the police. Her parents, however, in their statement to the police, said that there was no reason for Geetanjali to kill herself. The police will question her colleagues on Friday. The post-mortem was conducted at Vydehi Hospital on Thursday and the body was handed over to her family at 12.30 p.m.
