Talking to The Tribune, a cross section of people visiting the Rose Garden to celebrate the occasion, highlighted the change brought in their life by regular practice of yoga. Brijendra Sharma, president of the Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Bathinda, said: “Modern science has also proved the physical and mental benefits of yoga. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has taken yoga to every household under his mission to keep the country fit and healthy. Yoga rectifies imbalances of mind, body and soul.

Talking to The Tribune, a cross section of people visiting the Rose Garden to celebrate the occasion, highlighted the change brought in their life by regular practice of yoga. Brijendra Sharma, president of the Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Bathinda, said: “Modern science has also proved the physical and mental benefits of yoga. Hence, people should adopt ancient traditions such as yoga. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has taken yoga to every household under his mission to keep the country fit and healthy. Now, the entire world celebrates the yoga annualy.” Rajpal Kaur (27), who has been practicing yoga for the past two years, said: “People should give time to practicing yoga, even in a busy schedule. People often forget to look after their health. Yoga rectifies imbalances of mind, body and soul. It has been scientifically proven that yoga has a major impact on health. For me, it’s not just about keeping my body in shape, but also the mind in check.” Kulveer Singh (36), who works as a PT teacher at Des Raj Memorial Government School, said: “Though I perform a lot of physical activities as a part of my job, I still manage to give time to perform yoga.” Charanjeet Singh (39), an eye specialist who runs a private clinic, said: “Yoga can cure various diseases, including diabetes, asthma cervical and depression. Though I practice a profession that is totally based on modern science principles, I do believe that yoga can change one’s life.” Kanta (65), a resident of Hazura Kapura, who visits Rose Garden on a daily basis, said: “Even at this age, I don’t take any medicine. I am totally fit and healthy because I practice pranayamas (exercises) such as kapalbhati, anulom vilom daily.” Dilraj (13), a student of Police Public School and a NCC volunteer, said, “Yoga keeps us fit and healthy. It is beneficial for students as they have to go through a lot of stress, not only during exam days but for the whole year. It also sharpens their mind.”
