Tribune News ServiceBathinda, September 15To discuss its long-pending demands, a delegation of the DAV Colleges’ Retired Teachers’ Association, Punjab, met Governor VP Singh Badnore in Chandigarh on Saturday. Association president Prof Rajnish Kumar, vice-president Prof Bodh Raj, general secretary Prof Satish Tandon, press secretary Prof NK Gosain, finance secretary Prof SC Arora and area secretary Prof AK Trivedi were part of the delegation. The Governor was informed that the benefit had already been granted by Panjab University, Chandigarh, and Punjabi University, Patiala, to the retired teachers of the colleges affiliated to these two universities. Whereas teachers of affiliated colleges of Panjab University have already been granted the benefit with effect from April 1, 1984, the teachers of the other two universities are deprived of it. They said while teachers of aided schools had been given the benefit of pension, but aided-college teachers were not getting pension.
