NGO distributes cloth carry bags to celebrate Gurpurb

Initiates three-week drive with an aim to make city plastic-freeTribune News ServiceBathinda, November 13To mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, a city-based NGO has started a three-week-long drive to distribute carry bags made of clothes in different parts of the city. According to NGO members, the drive is aimed at making the city plastic-free. Kewal Krishan Garg, president and founder member of Goodwill Society, said, “There could not have been a better tribute to Guru Nanak Dev Ji than doing a bit to protect the environment from pollution. We decided to do a bit on our own and came up with the idea of distributing carry bags made of clothes in different markets in the city. We will continue to distribute these carry bags (30 bags daily) in the coming three weeks on a daily basis,” he added.
