Setting example: Man, daughter use stubble as fodder for livestock

Tribune News ServiceMuktsar, November 15A farming family from Lande Rode village here is setting an example for others in manage paddy stubble without burning it. Gurtek Singh and his daughter Sandeep Kaur are collecting paddy stubble from their six acres to use these as dry fodders for their livestock. Sharing their experience about stubble management, they said for the past some years, they had not burnt stubble. Gurtek Singh said, “We pick up all stubble from the field with a tractor-trolley and use it as fodder for our livestock for next one year. “Small and marginal farmers can manage stubble easily if they use it as fodder by mixing it with routine animal feed or a bedding material for animals,” he said.
