City player in Indian hockey squad for tri-nation tourney

Tribune News ServiceBathinda, December 6Bringing laurels to the city, Baljeet Kaur, a hockey player, has made it to the Indian junior women hockey squad that is currently participating in a tri-nation hockey tournament being organised in Canberra, Australia, from December 3 to December 8. The Indian team has won its first match against New Zealand in the tournament. Kaur, a student of BA first year at DAV College, had given brilliant performances one after the other in the district and state-level hockey championships in the past one year. He further congratulated Prof Kuldeep Singh, head of the department of physical education, Prof Nirmal and Prof Rajvir Kaur for providing expert guidance to the student. Vice-principal Parveen Kumar Garg also congratulated Baljeet Kaur and wished her luck for the tournament.

Kaur, a student of BA first year at DAV College, had given brilliant performances one after the other in the district and state-level hockey championships in the past one year. Principal Sanjeev Sharma expressed immense happiness over Baljeet Kaur’s inclusion in the team and said it was a matter of honour for the college to represent the nation. “It gives me immense pleasure to witness young players play energetically for the team”, said Sharma. He further congratulated Prof Kuldeep Singh, head of the department of physical education, Prof Nirmal and Prof Rajvir Kaur for providing expert guidance to the student. Vice-principal Parveen Kumar Garg also congratulated Baljeet Kaur and wished her luck for the tournament.
