MP CM seeks Centre's assistance in proportion to rise in population

BHOPAL: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan demanded that increase in Centre's share of various schemes and financial assistance should be made in proportion to increase in population during the last few years. Along with this, he expressed concern over financial assistance for Nafed and the pending payment with Nafed. During the half an hour long meeting, Chouhan put forth a demand for additional financial assistance for the state. He urged that the state needs additional financial assistance from the Centre to protect farmers from heavy loss owing to the bumper agriculture production in the state. He demanded that MP must be given additional amount in the form of green bonus to accelerate the pace of overall development in the state.Earlier, Chouhan met Union minister for finance Piyush Goyal.
