Eight fall ill after eating noodles in MP village

BHOPAL: Eight people including seven children fell ill after consuming noodles in a village under Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday. The grandmother of the kids, who also ate the noodles fell ill, he said. Four kids were referred to the medical college in Sagar.Barelal Ahirwar, father of the children said that packets of noodles were purchased from the local grocer and as soon as the children consumed the noodles, they started vomiting. Later they were shifted to Bundelkhand Medical College Sagar.Dr Amit Goswami of the primary health centre, Naugaon said it was a case of food poisoning.Zia Qureshi, tehsildar, Naugaon said, "This will only be known after investigations whether they fell ill because of consuming noodles or some insect fell into it while cooking.” Among the children, the youngest one is 2-year-old while the eldest is 11-year-old.Ailing children and their grandmother were given treatment at the primary health centre, but four of them who continued to look serious were taken first to the district hospital about 70 kms away from the village.
