Tribal girl gangraped in Bhopal

She was taken to Govindpura police station, where she gave a statement and police registered a case of gang-rape against Rahul, Monu and Khan. Two of the accused are in custody and police are looking for her cousin and a fourth accused. According to her, Khan left her alone with Rahul in the house and went off. Rahul, 22, who works as a cook at a hotel near ISBT also went along. Rahul took her out of the house, saying he was taking her to another location.

BHOPAL: A 21-year-old tribal girl, who had come to Bhopal in search of job, and didn’t know her way around the city was allegedly betrayed by the cousin she trusted and gangraped by two men on Tuesday night.One of the rapists was taking her to another location in the wee hours of Wednesday when a Dial 100 team spotted them at a desolate are near Shahpura and rescued her. Two of the accused are in custody and police are looking for her cousin and a fourth accused. Police paraded the two accused — Rahul Thakur and Monu Sharma — in Govindpura where they were beaten up by local girls in presence of police.The survivor, who works in a hotel in Mandla district , has told cops that her cousin invited her to Bhopal, saying there were good job openings for her in the state capital, said SP-south Lodha Rahul Kumar. She arrived at Habibganj station around 1pm. Her cousin met her and told her that he lives far away but has arranged for her to stay with his friend, Idris Khan.Lodha said she went to Khan’s house on his bike. Rahul, 22, who works as a cook at a hotel near ISBT also went along. According to her, Khan left her alone with Rahul in the house and went off. Rahul raped hear and beat her when she resisted, she alleges. Then, he called his friend Monu, 28, who is also a cook.The duo had got their salaries that day and had a booze party, after which she was raped again, she said in her complaint.When Khan returned, she was so terrified and traumtatised that she didn’t say anything. Rahul took her out of the house, saying he was taking her to another location. About 7km away, in Shahpura, they were spotted by a Dial 100 patrol. On seeing the cops, she asked for help and Rahul was detained. She was taken to Govindpura police station, where she gave a statement and police registered a case of gang-rape against Rahul, Monu and Khan. Monu was nabbed shortly thereafter. Lodha said Khan and the survivor’s cousin are on the run.
