Roy has been contending that the CBI probe into Bhopal gas disaster was “malicious, biased, unfounded and based on false presumptions”. He even argued in the court of district judge, Bhopal, that CBI drew inferences from scientist S Varadrajan’s report on Bhopal gas tragedy to prepare a charge sheet, which could help the Union government get maximum compensation from the US company. It’s against this order that Roy has appealed in the high court.During the hearing of the petition on Wednesday, the CBI counsel sought time to file a response. Justice Sanjay Dwivedi granted four weeks to CBI to respond to the petition. But, the district & sessions judge rejected the application on March 22, 2018.
