Sharda Vihar in knee-deep water

BHOPAL: Almost all roads in Sharda Vihar Colony in Kerwa dam area were submerged under water since early morning on Tuesday. SHO Ratibad Sunil Bhadouria said, “We have deployed cops near Kerwa dam to stop people from entering the water.” As a result, water gushed into houses in low-lying areas of the colony.Jahanvi Pachori, a teacher and resident of Sharda Vihar, said, “The colony’s main road is being constructed for past three months. It gives an idea about rain intensity.Kerwa Dam Residents started reaching Kerwa dam since morning to enjoy rain in natural surroundings. The main road turned into a water stream in morning hours.

The main road of the colony connecting Mendori village is under construction for past three months. Like in some other areas, the road is being built, lifting ground level up to three feet, triggering waterlogging. nullah , which passes behind the colony, was flowing above the road since morning. As a result, open plots in the colony were filled with water, which reached up to 2 feet. As a result, water gushed into houses in low-lying areas of the colony.Jahanvi Pachori, a teacher and resident of Sharda Vihar, said, “The colony’s main road is being constructed for past three months. It creates a problem for commuters especially in rainy season. I met with minor accidents three times in past one week while riding my scooter on this road.”Ankita Sinha, a housewife and resident of Sharda Vihar, said, “All pits and open plots in the colony have been filled with water from rainfall. The main road turned into a water stream in morning hours. It gives an idea about rain intensity.Kerwa Dam Residents started reaching Kerwa dam since morning to enjoy rain in natural surroundings. Some risking their lives tried to enter water, but cops, present at the spot to prevent any untoward incident, asked them to come out. SHO Ratibad Sunil Bhadouria said, “We have deployed cops near Kerwa dam to stop people from entering the water.”
