Bullets Fly As Gang War Fear Grips Bhopal

Police said that Tanzil Khan, a history-sheeter, fired at 22-year-old Shahrukh Khan on Thursday.“The bullet pierced through the victim’s hand and got stuck in his ribs. Police said that Shahrukh has friendly relations with a history-sheeter Pappu Chatka an old rivalry with Tanzil, who is said to be associated with Juber Moulana gang.Police said that the incident is a fallout of a firing incident that took place in Talaiya area on April 26 — where Shahrukh is wanted in an attempt to murder case registered at Talaiya police station. During the incident, Pappu Chatka, one Farookh and Shahrukh fired at Tanzil and his friends. SHO Shajehanadbad, Upendra Chhari said that Shahrukh Khan, a resident of Gwal Mohalla in Roshanpura is a history sheeter. He is an auto-rickshaw driver. In his statement, Shahrukh said that he had gone to Shajehanabad to his girlfriend’s house and was returning home on his bike around 11pm.He told police that he crossed Sanjay Taran Puskar and was moving towards Bhopal Gate when the accused, Tanzil, and two others zipped pass him on a bike. Just a little ahead, they waylaid him and took out a pistol, he told police, adding that Tanzil shot at him.Shahrukh in his statement said that he ran from the spot to save his life, some locals took him to Hamidia hospital, after which he was shifted to a private hospital.Police was informed and a case was registered at Koh-e-Fiza police station on zero from where it was transferred to Shahjehanabad police station on Friday.ASP Rajesh Bhadouria said that the police were investigating the case from all angles including self-inflicted injury to rule out any possibility of false complaint.He said that six teams were formed after the incident to search for Tanzil and they have raided his 28 suspected hideouts. Search and further investigation is on, he said.
