MP Congress expels six, show-cause two others for attack on Deepak Babaria

Two local Congress leaders of Rewa have been served show-cause notices for “inciting” Congress workers against Babaria. Answering a query on who will be the chief minister if Congress came to power in the state Babaria had said it would either be state Congress president Kamal Nath or election campaign committee chairman Jyotiraditya Scindia. BHOPAL: State Congress on Wednesday expelled six party workers for “misbehaviour” with AICC general secretary in-charge Deepak Babaria during his official visit in to Rewa on Sunday. They have been told to reply within seven days.In another case, state Congress media cell chief Shobha Oza removed party spokesman in Burhanpur Ajay Udaseen for indiscipline and anti-party activities. Congress identified Rajesh Singh Sirmour, Sandeep Singh, Dharmendra Tiwari Ballu, Manvendra Singh Neeraj Bhaskar Singh Jaba and Rahul Singh Teothar as those responsible for manhandling of the senior leader.

BHOPAL: State Congress on Wednesday expelled six party workers for “misbehaviour” with AICC general secretary in-charge Deepak Babaria during his official visit in to Rewa on Sunday. Two local Congress leaders of Rewa have been served show-cause notices for “inciting” Congress workers against Babaria. State PCC has sought an explanation from these two leaders within seven days failing which “action will be initiated for indiscipline.”Deepak Babaria had addressed a press conference in the circuit house during his stay in Rewa on Sunday. Answering a query on who will be the chief minister if Congress came to power in the state Babaria had said it would either be state Congress president Kamal Nath or election campaign committee chairman Jyotiraditya Scindia. Next, Babaria was asked if leader of Opposition Ajay Singh was also in the race for chief minister’s post and the AICC general secretary replied, “Whatever you understand.”Soon as Babaria ended the press conference and entered a room, some party workers allegedly walked-in and roughed him up. The AICC general secretary had denied that the attack was by Congress workers and held the ruling BJP responsible for it.The matter went to AICC president Rahul Gandhi and came up for discussion when party leaders met for an election meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday. Less than 24 hours later, axe fell on all those responsible for the incident. Congress identified Rajesh Singh Sirmour, Sandeep Singh, Dharmendra Tiwari Ballu, Manvendra Singh Neeraj Bhaskar Singh Jaba and Rahul Singh Teothar as those responsible for manhandling of the senior leader. “They have been expelled from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect for gross indiscipline,” a state Congress release said.State PCC organisational vice-president Chandra Shekhar Prabhash said that two persons, identified as Chakradhar Singh Jaba and Vinod Sharma, corporators in Rewa have been served show-cause notices for instigating the attackers. They have been told to reply within seven days.In another case, state Congress media cell chief Shobha Oza removed party spokesman in Burhanpur Ajay Udaseen for indiscipline and anti-party activities.
