Ayush junior doctors sell veggies to help flood-affected Kerala

BHOPAL: Ayush junior doctors, who are on strike demanding a hike in stipend, adopted a novel method of protest on Sunday and sold vegetables and fruits. The money collected from the sale would be contributed for relief work in flood-hit Kerala . The sale was organised on the Ayush campus in Bhopal Meanwhile, Malayalee associations of Bhopal formed a Kerala flood relief committee to send aid to flood victims, providing them with necessary items and funds to purchase utilities.“It is a small gesture from Ayush doctors to contribute towards relief of people suffering in Kerala. We also plan to send some medicine and other essentials,” said homeopath and PG student Dr Manoj Kumar Sahu.C Ashokan, president of United Malayalee association said, “All the Malayalee associations have come together to form the relief fund. We are planning to raise Rs 1crore and make at least 5,000 emergency kits that will contain grains, pulses, sanitary pads, sanitizers, soaps to provide the victims with basic necessities- food and sanitation.” Apart from the relief kits two trucks of mineral water and one truck full of blankets will be sent as immediate relief.
