It was the Congress that had opposed the cow protection movement in the country and suppressed the agitation. “During the Congress regime in MP, a meagre Rs 2 crore was allotted for the gau raksha (cow protection) board. The Congress has no right to talk about cow protection. Nath must clarify how many Congress leaders are running cow shelters in MP. This is a tactic to garner political mileage…,” Giri told TOI.At the Ganj Basoda rally, Nath had alternated his speech between cow protection and unemployment, calling joblessness his biggest concern.

This is not rhetoric but a promise,” he tweeted on Monday. For the first time he made this promise at a rally in Ganj Basoda town of Vidisha on Sunday. “The BJP is indulging in politics over ‘gau mata’, but doing nothing substantial to save hundreds of cows that are dying on a regular basis. Today, under the BJP rule, it is nearly Rs 100 crore. The Congress has no right to talk about cow protection. It was the Congress that had opposed the cow protection movement in the country and suppressed the agitation. Nath must clarify how many Congress leaders are running cow shelters in MP. This is a tactic to garner political mileage…,” Giri told TOI.At the Ganj Basoda rally, Nath had alternated his speech between cow protection and unemployment, calling joblessness his biggest concern.
