Truck looters admit to 5 more murders

The truck was said to be coming from Ghaziabad and going to Raipur when they befriended truck staffers. With no money to pay the fine, they left the truck and fled.Lodha said Khamra revealed he stole another truck from Raipur with Jaikaran and killed two truck staffers. Khamra said he stole one of the trucks with Tukaram on August 10 after murdering three staffers, including the truck driver. As the truck was not loaded they sold the truck this time. The three accused, who were arrested on Friday had already confessed to committing 14 murders.

BHOPAL: A day after Bhopal police busted an inter-state gang of hardcore criminals, who allegedly looted trucks after killing truck driver and helper, the accused on Saturday confessed to killing five more persons, all in Chhattisgarh. The three accused, who were arrested on Friday had already confessed to committing 14 murders. Most cases were blind murders.Apart from these murders the accused have committed 8 more murders in which they were booked earlier.SP (South) Lodha Rahul Kumar said accused Adesh Khamra, 50, a resident of Mandideep, Jaikaran Prajapati, 30, who hails from Chhatarpur district and presently stayed at Bhopal along with Tukaram Banjara, 48, a resident of Yavatmal in Maharashtra , were arrested on Friday and produced before court from where they were sent on police remand.Lodha said during interrogation accused revealed they had stolen two trucks from Raipur in Chattisgarh last month and killed five staffers. Khamra said he stole one of the trucks with Tukaram on August 10 after murdering three staffers, including the truck driver. The truck was said to be coming from Ghaziabad and going to Raipur when they befriended truck staffers. The truck was loaded with rexine sheets, but when they were about to sell goods they were stopped at an RTO barrier. As the truck was overloaded, RTO officials fined them. With no money to pay the fine, they left the truck and fled.Lodha said Khamra revealed he stole another truck from Raipur with Jaikaran and killed two truck staffers. As the truck was not loaded they sold the truck this time. They stole one more truck from Chhattisgarh, but left after they met with an accident.He said on basis of information provided to Raipur police, a police team reached Bhopal. The Raipur police team sent video footages of accused Khamra and Tukaram captured while they were stopped by RTO officials.The information about their arrest has been sent to police of other states and police teams from various states were seeking details about them.IG Jaideep Prasad said that the accused are hard core criminals and the number of murders may increase.
