NLIU memes a laugh riot on campus

A group called NLIU Memes is active on Facebook where students posts satirical memes to raise issues that are plaguing the law university. Whether it is about teaching faculty, ragging, routine issues or others, students post memes without any hesitation. BHOPAL: Memes posted by NLUI students on social media to express their views over the state of affairs on the law university campus have become a hit. However, even after the protest ended, students continued to post memes in the group due to the overwhelming response. “Latest posts are all about ongoing issues on the campus,” said another student.Raising the issue of ragging on the campus, students posted a meme showing a picture of students with captions “Batch of 2022” and “the floor is UGC complaints”.

BHOPAL: Memes posted by NLUI students on social media to express their views over the state of affairs on the law university campus have become a hit. A group called NLIU Memes is active on Facebook where students posts satirical memes to raise issues that are plaguing the law university. Taking a cue, other law students have also started posting memes in the group, making it a huge hit.Students said the group was started last year after all their efforts to raise their voice on the campus failed.“There was so much resentment among students against former director SS Singh that a few of them got off to launch a memes group on social media,” said a student without quoting his name.After the group’s success, students started using it as a medium to express their views on various issues on the campus. “Students regularly post on it about routine issues. Whether it is about teaching faculty, ragging, routine issues or others, students post memes without any hesitation. Since all group members are law students, it is easy for them to understand the post’s meaning,” said another student without quoting her name.A meme with a picture of former director SS Singh, reads, “Yeh marks badhane ke liye protest karna zarooree hai kya (Is it necessary to organise protests for increasing marks).” This meme was posted when students were holding protests against Singh. The agitation led to removal of Singh from the post of director. However, even after the protest ended, students continued to post memes in the group due to the overwhelming response. “Latest posts are all about ongoing issues on the campus,” said another student.Raising the issue of ragging on the campus, students posted a meme showing a picture of students with captions “Batch of 2022” and “the floor is UGC complaints”. Students said the meme was about the trend of ragging complaints.Taking pot shots at the university’s name, a meme showing a student scratching his head, reads, “My College is called National Law University, but it is established by a state legislation.”
