3-year-old girl sexually abused inside school van in Bhopal

BHOPAL: A three-year-old girl student of pre-nursery was allegedly sexually abused by the conductor of her school van while she was on her way home in Ayodhya Nagar locality in Bhopal on Thursday. She was recently admitted to a prenursery private school located at Ayodhya Bypass. Her father is in a private job, while mother is a housewife.The toddler’s mother told police that her daughter goes to school by a 14-seater traveller van. He told police that he sexually abused the toddler who was seated near the van gate and was asleep.School headmistress Bhawna Shrivastava said the van was hired on by the school management. The accused is said to be a minor and cops are verifying his details.SHO Ayodhya Nagar Baljeet Singh said the survivor lives with her parents in a covered campus colony.

A woman caretaker who was accompanying the childen in the school van pleaded ignorance about any such incident.When the toddler reached home, her mother spotted traces of blood on her undergarment upon which she asked the child about it and she named the van conductor.She immediately reported the matter to her family members and then approached Ayodhya Nagar police station.Cops acting on the complaint registered a case of rape against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act and arrested him. The accused is said to be a minor and cops are verifying his details.SHO Ayodhya Nagar Baljeet Singh said the survivor lives with her parents in a covered campus colony. She was recently admitted to a prenursery private school located at Ayodhya Bypass. Her father is in a private job, while mother is a housewife.The toddler’s mother told police that her daughter goes to school by a 14-seater traveller van. The van is attached to the school and a woman caretaker picks and drops her daughter from home.The mother said that as usual her daughter returned home from school and she gave her some snacks to eat. Later, when she was changing her clothes, she found blood stains in her undergarment and rashes on her private parts. When she asked her about it the toddler said, “Vanwale uncle had done it.”The toddler’s mother informed her husband and they reported the matter to the police at around 3.30pm.The toddler’s uncle, talking to TOI said that for around two hours they were made to wait at the police station and only when some media people arrived, cops took the toddler for a medical examination. The school management was informed and the accused van conductor taken into custody.The uncle said that the minor girl was shown some photographs by police from which she identified the accused.Baljeet Singh said that the accused bus conductor, a resident of Shabri Nagar, admitted to have committed the crime. He told police that he sexually abused the toddler who was seated near the van gate and was asleep.School headmistress Bhawna Shrivastava said the van was hired on by the school management. The regular caretaker was on leave on Thursday and a replacement, Mansi Chaturvedi, was sent to accompany the students. She said that the school management got information about the incident from police and necessary action will be taken against the transport agency.The headmistress also said that children were informed about good touch and bad touch recently due to which the toddler could tell her mother about the abuse.Caretaker Chaturvedi said that she was present on the van but expressed ignorance about the incident.
