BHOPAL: Office of the chief electoral officer (CEO) has sought a report from the divisional commissioner Jabalpur over allegations that minister Gaurishankar Bisen had distributed 'saris' to more than 3,000 women in Balaghat district after the model code of conduct was enforced.The move comes after a complaint of Samajwadi Party leaders on Monday. In the complaint, Samajwadi Party leaders said on October 8, a programme, 'Kamal Shakti Samagam' was organized by Bisen at the government high school ground at Lalbarra.A rally was taken out without permission and using more than 50 four-wheelers and 500 two-wheelers, around 3,000 women were brought there, given saris and offered food in violation of model code of conduct, alleged leaders.In their complaint, SP leaders also urged the EC to take action against electoral officers alleging that no action was taken by officials despite complaint of MCC violation."We registered our complaint the same day with district election officers. When no action was taken, we made complaint with chief electoral officer," Dr Sunilam, state spokesperson of the SP told TOI.Agriculture minister Gaurishankar Bisen, however, refuted all allegations describing them as baseless."These are false allegations to malign our image. There are no evidences and complaints are untruthful and baseless.
