Martyr cops to be honoured on October 21

BHOPAL: Six police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty - including Bhopal ASI Amritlal Bhilala who was hit by a speeding car while he was deployed at a checkpoint will be honoured during the police commemoration day to be observed in Bhopal on October 21.The six police personnel who lost their lives September 1, 2017 to October 21, 2018 in the state are head constable Indrapal Singh Sengar of Raisen, ASI Amritlal Bhilala of Bhopal, ASI Dev Chand Nagele of Chhindwara, head constable Arvind Kumar Sen of Alirajpur, Raj Bhahdur Yadav of Tikamgarh and constable Mukund Prajapati.DIG central range Deepak Verma said that Indrapal Singh Sengar was mowed down by a jeep during operation to arrest an absconder at Jamunia village in Raisen.He was posted at Bharkach police station and died in the hospital, police said. A speeding car hit him and he fell on the bumper.The errant driver did not stop and sped the car. Bhilala, who was entangled with car was dragged to about 700 metres till Karond Mandi after which the car bumped on a speed breaker and he was released from under it. He succumbed to injuries later.ASI Dev Chanda Nagle was axed to death by family members of an accused he had gone to arrest in Chhindwara district.Head constable Arvind Kumar Sen was murdered by a gang of robbers during a loot on highway. Similarly, constable Raj Bhahdur Yadav of Tikamgarh was shot dead while arresting an absconder.
