Government health workers are not finding it easy to sensitise people. Healthcare practitioners are already struggling with surveillance on an estimated 4,000 pregnant women in Bhopal. In Bhopal’s Jehangirabad area, many health workers were shown the door on Sunday after trying to give family planning tips.A pregnant woman, even one without symptoms, can pass Zika to her developing foetus. And going by health department estimates of about 30 pregnancies per 1,000 population at any point of time, it indicates that 1,300 women — and foetuses — are at risk.
